Hustlenomics Salutes: Miguel Perez
Bounce aka Miguel Angel Perez has been busy with many projects and collaborations these past couple years. From murals to exhibitions, photography, fashion to graphic designs, this Artist has a wide range in talents. Last year, he traveled to Mexico to not only sleep in beaches, drink tequila all day and take pictures of the ladies, but he was also a part of a global arts event called Cowparade. CowParade is the world’s largest public art event. From Chicago and New York in 1999 and 2000 to Kansas City and Houston in 2001 and London in 2002, CowParade continues to evolve, not just in size, but in creativity and quality of art. While the cow sculptures remain the same, each city’s artists are challenged by the art from past events, inspired by the cultural influences of their respective cities, and moved by their own interpretation of the cow as an art object. Most important, CowParade ultimately benefits charity. At the conclusion of each event, the cows are herded up and many are auctioned, with a substantial portion of the proceeds benefiting charity. While painting cows, Bounce travels back and fourth to different parts of the world with Trust Your Struggle Collective to collaborate on mural paintings in communities such as, Rincon Puerto Rico, California, Brooklyn New York, El Salvador, Mexico, Havana Cuba......
Figment dolls by Ciraco Sayoc
Figments are one of a kind hand made characters. Each character is made from fabrics that attracted me in the color, weave, and design. Their personalities take shape as each character is sewn and put together. Their clothes give them their attitude, which allows them to express their moods and emotions to us differently.
